| Which would you get? All suggestions are appreciated.
I really don't have a great deal of $ atm. So like an Alienware is out of the question. I'm looking at about 8 or 9 hundred max just for the tower loaded with a ....
crap something like this... HP Pavilion Elite HPE-300z series Operating system Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Processor AMD Phenom(TM) X4 945 quad-core processor [3.0GHz, 2MB L2 + 6MB L3 shared, up to 4000MHz] Memory 6GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMs] Hard drive 750GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive Office software Microsoft Office Starter 2010 Graphics card 2GB ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI,HDMI, DP, VGA adapter] Primary optical drive LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive Networking Premium Wireless-N LAN card and Bluetooth(R ) Front Productivity Ports 15-in-1 memory card reader, 1 USB, 1394, audio Sound Card Integrated sound
Haven't look at Dell yet, (web site confused the FK out of me last night) or Gateway (Just thought of that one) so...
I need suggestions on what I definitely need or should look for and why.
I'm dying to play Starcraft II or L4D and the like. And other then the fact that I know that I don't probably need a 6 core or ever will, WTF is the difference between an ADM processor or an Intel, or the multiple core vs the new i5 or i7's.
This is the Minnimum/recommended requirements for SCII that I've been using as a basis for what to look at.
PC Minimum System Requirements*:
Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 (Updated with the latest Service Packs) with DirectX® 9.0c 2.6 GHz Pentium® IV or equivalent AMD Athlon® processor 128 MB PCIe NVIDIA® GeForce® 6600 GT or ATI Radeon® 9800 PRO video card or better 12 GB available HD space 1 GB RAM (1.5 GB required for Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 users) DVD-ROM drive Broadband Internet connection 1024X720 minimum display resolution
PC Recommended Specifications:
Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 Dual Core 2.4Ghz Processor 2 GB RAM 512 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800 GTX or ATI Radeon® HD 3870 or better | |

| It'd be worth it, if it's provided with a good power supply that is. If it is, then you can run anything for a while. | |

| Actually it's now the 400 series, the 300 series is no longer an option for sale. This is the model I'm looking at:
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=desktops&a1=Category&v1=High+performance&series_name=HPE400z_series&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp/hhoslp/psg/desktops/High_performance/HPE400z_series
All said and done It would run me around $929.99 US after I upgrade from it's basic setup. It's 6 USB ports total. 2 front/4 back and the only thing that does worry me is that it's only 300w. Although the bigger machines that are in this series do go to 460w, I read a bunch of complaints that the people are having problems blowing circuit breakers plus the fact that those machines start at $1000.00+.
If anyone has the time to look through it and give me an opinion on what else I might need instead of what I was looking at, I'd appreciate it.
These are the other specs:
Type Elite multimedia, value PC Usage Home Chassis uATX Memory card reader 15-in-1 media card reader Total memory slots 4 DIMM Ports 6 USB (2 front, 4 back), 1 IEEE 1394 Audio Front headphone, mic (7.1 speaker capable) Total slots 1 PCIe (x16 graphics), 3 PCIe (x1), 1 MiniCard Energy Star Qualified No Power supply 300 watts Storage bay HP Pocket Media Drive Bay Dimensions 16.85"(L) x 7.05"(W) x 15.79"(H) Modem Optional Network interface Integrated 10/100/1000Mbps (Ethernet) Software kit HP Pavilion bundle with MediaSmart Software Suite DVD/CD burner software Cyberlink DVD Suite Deluxe Tools Desktop icon for built-in desktop Help and Support Center Warranty 1-year limited hardware Support 1-year limited software, 1-year limited hardware support
