Hello everyone, been a long time.

Who has the source code for AVP2? have a use for it and thus need it.

I don't think anyone here would be any help to you. Try heading on over to TBBCbase.net on their forums. They control the server for the server browser. See if they'd be willing to give it to you.

Thanks man, already made a profile there, now if the kind forum overlords would verify it.

I'm already a member there, Smith & Wesson. I could ask for you since it took like a few weeks for the admin to get to activating me. I don't know how generous they would be since source codes give people the ability to do some major hacking. I'll ask though!

That would be kind of you, well they're generosity isn't even a question in this matter, i probably have more news for them then they have for me.

What's the news? If you dont mind me asking, what are you planning with the source code?

I will explain it to you in detail if you hold interest, i would like to hear they're answer first.

My explanation will come after, not that interested in receiving the source code as i am interested in receiving the answer either someone will share it or not. This has nothing to do with developing a new cheating exploit for the game.

I will take your word for it, that this is the source code. However i don't need the password nor do i need the code it's self as i have already mentioned in my previous post.

Suprised? I've had the source code since 2003, complements go to my old friend Super Vegetto from Earth Special Forces.
Took me a long time a recent search on an old external drive to realize that I've always had it, completely forgotten.

I merely wanted to see people's reaction and they're question for my request of obtaining it, since lately a beautiful girl has informed me that AVP2 has become sort of a monopoly for certain people.

You so desperately want to hear an explanation? Here it is:
I'm currently reworking the game to utilize a 64bit architecture, new renderer pipeline to take advantage of modern drivers for compatibility and a new server system to eliminate master server patch. All with 1 installation file out of the box, no need for any more life support or patches.

so far changes include:

Changed the renderer API to Direct3D9 HLSL shader based. So far no new effects, but the headers have all been rewritten to take advantage of the DX9 library.
Got rid of DirectInput for RawInput, polling rate of up to 1000HZ are now supported and recognised for modern keyboards and mice.
Audio system change to XAudio2, so far a lot of unresolved problems.
Porting c++ code to 64Bit, solved the alignment problem, so far works only on Intel CPU's. Eliminated DEP concern.
Major change to the server system, I'll keep details on this in the black for now.

So you are remastering it, I'm in. I started 1 year ago improving some graphical issues but need a team for that lol. And no one will do that for free. If you want to do the new server system you have to improve the game like a 2.0, better everything but not with a mod. Rewrite all the stuff make it look cooler smoother. We can recycle some effects from AvP 2010 dunno. But a team of 8 will make the trick. So ya know mate if you want to remaster I'm in.

Grave dig? I am looking for the source code for avp2 as well. I got the original avp source, but I need the second one as well. If anyone would be willing to get it to me... I am putting a project together with Unreal Engine.

Try the AVP2 forum on AvPGalaxy. Many of the original modders are active on here and may be able to help you out.

Edit: Yea seems like they are not very welcoming to some asking for such. Finding this source code that was publicly released by Monolith is becoming a real pain.
