AVP2 Server help

Firstly I wanna thank this site for getting me into AVP2 after AVP 2010 turned out to be a really horrible game. I found the game and the saviour patch here and I've been having lots of fun.


I'm trying to host a dedicated server on my computer, and me and a friend got in the game fine.

But we can't use the plasma pistol or any weapons because no projectiles work for some reason.

I thought I might be able to fix this by enabling all weapons, but the ALLWEAPONS command crashes the server console because i'm on win7 and 64 bit. I've tried it in all compatability modes and had an XP machine run into the same problems.

Any help on configuring a local dedicated server? Thanks

edit: I already have 5.0b9 I believe it\'s what I tried, do you have a link to the new one?

edit2: it instantly crashes as soon as the server ap opens, and I don\'t even get a chance to type anything in the console, same as last time.

I think it's because I'm on windows 7 and using a 64 bit version

First open rommies_settings.exe.txt
try to find 1 called all weaponsmode
be sure its set to 1 not 0

2nd try to find 1 called UseWeaponBan
be sure its set to 0 not 1

host it with avp2serv.exe

Will do, but how can i run Rommie's server app without it crashing immediately on win7 64 bit?

And try "rightlick=>Properities=>Compatibility=>Run this program and select XP

Tried winxp sp2 and 3,, win98 and 2000, and ME and still get the crashes on all of them

Ok with AVP2serv.exe and rommie's server i can work it with a different config file, I will see if the pred pistol works now

Edit: ok the weapons all work fine, thanks for your help man!

One question: When i play as predator on my server, it starts with all weapons. On other servers it's not like this.

Is this because of the "all weapons" command?

I haven't been checking forums much. PC problems. This is what rommie told me.

Uninstall avp (Make sure you remove the registry also (The how-to is in the tech forum posted by myself)
Install avp2
Install patch 1.0.9.6
Install patch MS 1.3
Install newest rommie, which is 5.0b9 ( http://rommie.aliensvspredator.cz )

According to what rommie told me in PM, there is a conflict between lithfaq's bunny-s mod and his, due to LithFAQ's poor computer programming skills. When I tried to run Rommies mode over bunny-s, I was able to run most of rommies mod by starting the server using servavp2.exe and not rommieservavp2.exe. You may want to try doing that as a temporary fix before you complete a full re-installation, other wise just do the re-install to completely remove all bunny-s crap.
